  • We draw on our local and global community’s extensive resources, stretching our lessons beyond the classroom walls to include real world applications.
  • We develop a sense of civic and social involvement in students.
  • We create and nurture a stewardship for nature.
  • We focus on individual leadership and character development.
  • We foster a culture of self-reflection, critique, and revision.
  • We incorporate project-based learning, field study, and the arts into purposeful and academically challenging learning adventures.
  • We build and support parental involvement.
  • We embrace individuality and diversity as an asset to our school.
  • We believe that learning is a lifelong endeavor and work to equip students with skills to become self-motivated, competent, and lifelong learners.

I regard it as the foremost task of education to insure the survival of these qualities:  an enterprising curiosity, an undefeatable spirit, tenacity in pursuit, readiness for sensible self denial, and above all, compassion.

UPDATE:  Our Lead Founder, Robyn Rogers, has decided to return her family to their home state of Oregon.  The ACS Development Team has chosen NOT to continue to pursue a charter school in the Menifee Union School District.  We recognize this is a loss for the parents and community of Menifee and are saddened by it.

Robyn will be working to build ACS (a K-5 charter) in Bend, Oregon - a school district that already recognizes the success of project-based learning and the concepts of interdisciplinary thematic units (as seen in their REALMS charter school).
