Our Mission
Mission
The mission of Aberdovey Charter School is to bring a K-5 public charter school to Central Oregon that incorporates project-based learning with an emphasis on community service and environmental practices.  Aberdovey Charter School organizes its curriculum around interdisciplinary learning adventures.  A Learning Adventure is a unit of study that spans the entire year and focus students on a single compelling topic.  Through this topic, students are taught all subjects and content standards.  Students will learn in the classroom and out in the real world.

Aberdovey Charter School promotes a rigorous and engaging curriculum, an active, inquiry-based pedagogy, and a dynamic school culture that encourages students to discover their unique potential, develop lifelong learning habits and embrace exemplary standards of character, intellectual achievement, and social responsibility so that they may become enterprising, compassionate and flourishing adults in our global community.  Academic achievement, leadership, and character development are at the core of the curriculum.

Aberdovey Charter School brings the opportunity of a small school environment, an imbedded character and leadership education program, an expectation of high quality products, and a promotion of diversity.  These aspects will benefit the city of Bend and its student population.
